The Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC) was established in 1917 as a neutral forum for solving domestic and international conflicts. In the 1970’s the SCC played an important role in the resolution of the East-West trade disputes between the United Stated and the Soviet Union. With over 100 years of activity, the SCC is considered a major player in the field of international dispute resolution.

Besides administering commercial cases, the SCC is also equipped to administers Investor-State disputes, as the institution is indicated as a possible forum for dispute resolution under the Energy Charter Treaty.
