Served as Secretary to the Tribunal in an ICC-administered arbitration proceeding concerning the effects of U.S. sanctions on obligations under an SPA on the sale of raw materials between a Singaporean seller and a Korean buyer, with English law as governing law and DIFC, UAE, as place of arbitration

Served as Secretary to the Sole Arbitrator in a DIAC-administered construction arbitration between Qatari and Spanish construction companies, with Qatari Law as the governing law and Dubai, UAE, as place of arbitration

Represented the Belgian-owned purchaser of shares in a German target company in a post-M&A arbitration under DIS Rules of Arbitration as well as in ancillary asset-freezing proceedings before the German state courts against the Swedish vendor

Represented the government of a state from the Australia/Pacific region in a dispute before the German state courts revolving around issues of public international law, in particular sovereign immunity

Represented a publicly traded U.S. company from the medical devices industry in German state court proceedings to set aside an arbitral award rendered in ICC arbitral proceedings against a German distributor

Represented a French climate and energy strategy consultant in a dispute against an Asian energy investor; facilitated litigation financing opportunities

Represented a globally active manufacturer of industrial flooring in an IP dispute against a competitor, coordinated proceedings in multiple jurisdictions (Germany, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, USA)

 

CAREER MILESTONES

Prior to joining BODENHEIMER, Dr. Nagelmüller worked for various leading litigation finance providers in Germany, New York City, and London. He was seconded to a prestigious London based disputes firm.

He also holds a doctoral degree from the University of Passau (dissertation on “Litigation Finance in Environmental Disputes”), a master’s degree in International and Comparative Law (LL.M.) from Tulane University, New Orleans (Louisiana, United States), and a Diploma in Law from the University of London.
